In-person and online therapy for high-achieving adults working through childhood trauma and dysfunctional family dynamics to create healthier, more fulfilling relationships—serving Matawan–Aberdeen, New Jersey.
Are you starting to realize that your childhood was messed up — even if it didn’t look “that bad” on the surface?
take a deep breath.
you’re in the right place if…
You’ve been through emotional, physical, or sexual abuse in childhood
On the outside, you function well—but inside, you find yourself reacting to everything or feeling guarded and disconnected.
You’re navigating family estrangement, or questioning whether it’s possible (or healthy) to stay connected
You’re noticing anxiety, avoidance, people-pleasing, or shutting down happening in your relationships — and you’re starting to connect how it’s rooted in your earlier childhood experiences
You’ve always felt like the “black sheep” in your family
You’ve done some therapy before or read psychology books – you gained insight and coping strategies, but you still feel like the same patterns keep showing up
You’ve gotten help for anxiety or depression and you’re feeling better with symptoms – but now you’re ready to go deeper and get to the root
For over a decade,
I’ve been helping adults just like you heal from childhood wounds and the effects of family dysfunction that are affecting your relationships now. I help adults go from repeating the same painful relationship patterns to feeling more secure, grounded, and clear in how they show up with partners, dates, and family.
My work is grounded in a non-pathologizing approach
Instead of treating your anxiety, avoidance, people-pleasing, or perfectionism as something to get rid of, we explore where they come from, why they’ve stuck around, and how to work with them in a safe way that actually creates change.
We don’t rush insight, force emotions, or push you to go somewhere you’re not ready to go. In fact, you don’t need to relive or recount past trauma to experience relief.
Instead, I approach therapy from the belief that you already carry important insight within you — and my role is to help you access it in a way that feels tangible and grounded.
Through parts-based and somatic work, we move beyond insight alone and work with patterns as they emerge in real time, helping you respond differently in your relationships now rather than repeating old dynamics.
I offer individual therapy for adults seeking depth-oriented, trauma-informed care, as well as extended sessions for those looking to focus more intentionally on specific patterns
Ongoing therapy grounded in safety, pacing, and nervous system awareness.

hi, i’m michelle
I’m a licensed therapist, and I’ve spent the past 10+ years helping adults heal from trauma, attachment patterns, and dysfunctional family relationships.
My approach is informed by somatic and parts-based work. Rather than focusing only on insight or past events, my work centers on what’s happening in the present moment to see where patterns become visible, workable, and open to change. I’m especially drawn to working with clients who have done talk therapy before, or when the psychology books and podcasts aren’t enough anymore – and are ready for deeper, more embodied change.
As a first-generation Greek-American, I bring an understanding of how immigrant culture, family roles, and loyalty can complicate healing — particularly when love and harm coexist. This perspective informs how I approach healing — with nuance, respect for complexity, and attention to how early relationships shape adult relationships.
i would love to support you
